The absence of a qualified forensic pathologist in Barbados could lead to even more delays in Barbados’ already beleaguered criminal justice system.
That’s the belief of Dr Carl Winskog, the last man to hold such a post in Barbados.
The Swedish doctor, who now works in the former war-ravaged nation of Kosovo in south-east Europe, said a forensic pathologist should always be in place in a jurisdiction like Barbados, where violent crimes regularly lead to unnatural deaths.
“It is a bit disturbing that a nation like Barbados does not have its own forensic pathologist. It is far from a good solution and in this case I think there are several reasons for this decision.
