Smiling Assassin makes finals

DON’T BE SURPRISED if you see a female officer leading the Coast Guard detachment ignoring protocol and smiling throughout this morning’s Independence Day Parade.

That officer, Sheldene Walrond, has over a thousand reasons to be smiling more than normal as the “Smiling Assassin” upset number two player Rachel Smith 16-21, 21-17, 21-17 on Saturday night at the Netball Stadium to march into the finals of the Massy United Insurance road tennis Clash of the Titans

The persistent rains scuttled many of the key games forcing organisers to reschedule those matches for last night ahead of tonight’s finals.

Not even a shocking collapse in the first game where Walrond slipped from 12-9 to face defeat 13-20 dampened her play or smile.
