SO FAR, so good.

Barbados’ premier road race festival seems on course for a great run.

Looks like sports enthusiasts will get that much improved Run Barbados Marathon Weekend after all as the new event organisers are reporting a huge increase in entrants, particularly overseas competitors.

Marketing director for race coordinators Islands Races, Kristina Evelyn, sounded positive about those initial figures ahead of tonight’s start to the series in St Lawrence Gap with the Fun Mile. run-barbados-logo

“We’re not sure of the exact numbers right now because we extended the registration deadline by one extra day from Tuesday to Wednesday, but we’re very pleased with the entries and very enthusiastic about the foreign interest we’re getting,” said Evelyn in a telephone interview with WEEKEND SPORT.
