‘Safest’ sex after marriage

The message should not be to use condoms or abstain, but to wait until marriage to have sex, an abstinence activist said yesterday.

Founder of the Pure Sex Centre Ambrose Carter said he understood the concept of the condom message but there were still minors out there.

“I understand the concept of the condom message but if it is against the law for our minors to be having sex, distributing condoms to them is saying that they are sexually active,” he said, adding that appears to be giving them permission.

Carter stressed that his organisation’s message to the youth was not to run away from acts like fornication but rather run towards purity. He was speaking during the first Purity Walk in Bridgetown.
