Opening win for Barbados men over T&T

BARBADOS MEN’S TEAM delivered a big win tonight at the 10th Caribbean Junior Volleyball Championships at the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.

They easily dispatched bitter arch rivals Trinidad and Tobago 25-20, 25-12, 25-18. The Bajans hardly looked troubled in the match, but in contrast, T&T often times looked out of their depth.

In other men’s matches contested today Curacao defeated Aruba 25-19, 25-21, 25-14 and the US Virgin Islands defeated Guadeloupe 26-24, 27-25, 25-22.

In the women’s division, Curacao defeated Martinique 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 25-14 and US Virgin Islands won 25-23, 25-14, 25-19 over Guadeloupe.

Tomorrow, Barbados women’s team will take on Haiti at 8 p.m. while the men will play the Haitian men’s team on Wednesday. (PG)
