A NUMBER OF COMMUNITIES in St Lucy and St Peter were without water yesterday and Saturday causing frustration, anger and inconvenience for householders as many of them were forced to seek relief from public standpipes.
Both young people and older residents were seen queuing at standpipes in Trents, Bourbon and Pickering in St Lucy waiting their turn to get water to cook their Sunday meals, wash and undertake other necessary chores.
Jalisa Parris, of Crab Hill, told the DAILY NATION: “I had to travel from Crab Hill over here at Trents since the water went off this morning, in order to have some for the house.”
Others came from Coles Cave, Grape Hall, Rockfield, Rock Hall, Pie Corner and Checker Hall in St Lucy waiting their turn to secure water.
