Women in heels for ‘silent victims’ of domestic violence

The inaugural Stiletto Walk And Run – to raise awareness of victims of domestic violence – might not have had a huge turnout yesterday, but organiser Amrela Massiah already has plans for next year.

Undaunted by the fact that fewer than 20 women participated, the head of the Barbados Literacy Foundation said that the event “went well”.

“Next year we will plan earlier [and] we will target specific groups so people can walk as groups. I think it will be much better and bigger,” said Massiah.

The group left Baobab Towers car park in Warrens and headed north towards the roundabout close to One Accord Plaza.
