Kellman supports desalination

ST LUCY Member of Parliament Denis Kellman has thrown his full support behind the proposal for a desalination plant after many of his constituents were left without water for more than 24 hours over the weekend.

Kellman, who is also Minister of Housing and Lands, estimated that 90 per cent of residents were affected by the outage that began Saturday morning in some areas and ended at around 3 p.m. Sunday.

The situation threatened to put a damper on his annual Christmas party Sunday evening, but it continued as normal after water was restored.

Kellman said desalination was the answer to the water scarcity problem facing the country. (WILLCOMM)
