A MUCH LARGER NUMBER of teachers will be boycotting the marking of School-Based Assessments (SBAs) next year.

This was revealed by president of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), Mary Redman, following the union’s meeting with over 100 teachers at Solidarity House yesterday.

She told the media the teachers were still demanding payment for marking SBAs.

“There is clear indication that larger number of teachers will not be marking SBAs without compensation,” Redman said, as she reiterated that the teachers would however continue to assist students in completing their SBAs. “But in terms of marking and all of the data entry work, none of that we will be doing.” (MB)
