King Street road ‘worse than ever’

RESIDENTS OF King Street, St Simon’s, St Andrew are fed up with the state of the road.

They said work had started in 2009 but had stalled and now the road was worse than ever.

Not only does it need paving, as the rough areas are damaging to vehicles, but a part of it has fallen away, where only one car can pass at a time.

One resident, who requested anonymity, said her mother was a double amputee and any emergency vehicle would have a hard time navigating the road. In addition, she said, since Haggatt’s Bridge was broken, any blockage of their only other way out, Isolation Road, would leave them trapped.
