CHARGED: Hakeem Roberto Stuart

POLICE HAVE ARRESTED and formally charged 18-year-old Hakeem Roberto Stuart with murder in connection with the shooting death of Dwayne Burgess.

Stuart, of Shelbourne Road, St Lawrence, Christ Church is accused of killing Dwayne Burgess, 35, formerly of Marley Vale, St Philip on Independence Day during the staging of the St Philip Carnival.

He was not required to plead to the indictable offence and was remanded to HMP Dodds until January 16 when he appeared in the Oistins Court before Chief Magistrate Pamela Beckles.

Stuart will re-appear at the District ‘C’ Court.

Investigations are continuing into the death of Shane Nurse who was also killed on Independence Day on the fringes of the Carnival.  (PR/SAT)
