Yellow Bird hotel reopens

THIRTY-TWO HOTELS have taken advantage of the provisions in the amended Tourism Development  Act and undergone multimillion-dollar renovations and refurbishments.

The move was lauded by Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy when he spoke at the reopening of the Yellow Bird Hotel  in St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church,  on Monday evening.

Sealy said the renovation of the 18-room boutique property, which had won tourism awards in the past, was an example to be followed.

Addressing an audience made up primarily of tourism officials and staff of Yellow Bird, the minister said while the investment from international hotel brands was good for attracting foreign investment into the tourism industry, domestic investment remained critically important.
