Shuffler moving on

SENIOR BUSINESS executive Tracey Shuffler is ending her leadership of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) earlier than originally scheduled.

Shuffler, who has been BCCI president since May last year, has been “seconded” to be chief executive officer at Caribbean Distribution Partners Limited (CDPL), a “fast-moving consumer goods” joint venture partnership between her substantive employer Goddard Enterprises Limited (GEL) and Trinidad and Tobago’s Agostini Limited.

As a result, she has notified BCCI members of her decision to demit office from next month, with senior vice-president Eddie Abed of S. Abed & Co. Ltd to succeed her then. She would have served until the organisation held its annual general meeting in May.

“I wish to advise the full membership that due to a considerably expanded role that I have recently been afforded within Goddard Enterprises’ recently created joint venture with Agostini’s Limited as CEO, I have made the decision to demit the position of president of the BCCI a few months ahead of our next [annual general meeting],” Shuffler told
