Visitors staying at the Ocean Two Resort & Residences are enjoying a new wine and dine experience on the south coast.
The resort has created an interactive dinner event where Barbadian legends and icons are invited to share their knowledge and experiences with guests during sunset dinners on the beach.
Last week, internationally recognised craftsman and artist Reggie Medford told his story to guests at the Dover-based luxury property, and showcased a range of his attractive, mahogany hand-crafted creations.
The man who operates Medford’s Craft World, at Whitehall, St Michael, shared stories of his journey and inspiration with attentive guests and also disclosed that he was very good in sciences, gaining advanced level certificates in biology and chemistry, but rejected an academic career for one in the arts.
British visitor Mike Darcy praised the concept which allowed them to interact with Barbadian icons and said he felt privileged to meet the man who did such amazing work.
Operations manager of Ocean Two Resort, Paul Collymore, said the wine and dine event was created as part of efforts to provide visitors with more authentic Barbadian experiences, and further expose them to local culture.
Several more wine and dine sessions, Collymore said, were being planned for the new year and icons from the arts, sports, entertainment, business and other areas would be invited to share their stories with guests.
