Council of PTAs to help struggling parents

THE BARBADOS National Council of Parent Teacher Associations (BNCPTA) is gearing up to offer assistance to struggling parents.

The organisation will be hosting a national conference early next year based on the premise that some parents are having difficulty raising their children.

Shone Gibbs, president of the association which is the umbrella body for local Parent Teacher Associations in Barbados, said that it would not be another talk shop but one where pertinent issues were discussed and participants supplied useful information.

“The issue of parenting has been neglected by society as a whole. Whenever the church, whenever the school, whenever politicians, whenever the legal fraternity speaks, all lead back to parents when it comes to the issue of discipline and the general welfare of our children.” (GBM)
