Burke looks to 2016 rides

Date:

RISING teenage surfer Josh Burke is looking to build on his outstanding performances in 2015 in the New Year.

“My goal for 2016 is to focus on competing on the World Surf League (WSL) World Qualifying Series (WQS) men’s events to qualify for the World Championship tour,” Burke told MIDWEEKSPORT as he also reflected on his rapid acceleration to surf stardom on the international stage.

The 18-year-old Barbadian ambassador for Billabong apparel and Reef footwear competed on the WSL junior tour and selected men’s WSL WQS events along with other elite tournaments.

He also represented Barbados with great success at the International Surfing Association (ISA) World Junior Championships, the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) National Finals and the Unsound Men’s Pro.
