Emar the A-class all-rounder

EMAR EDWARDS does not operate on Energiser batteries, but he sure keeps going and going and going.

When the 18-year-old isn’t playing road tennis on the Silver Hill hard court, he may very well be on the squash or basketball courts, on the cricket pitch, tapping into his mind power over a game of chess or even moving to the beat with his partner on the dance floor.

In a relatively short period of time, he has tasted success, most notably twice emerging as junior champion in the popular Silver Hill road tennis tournament and more recently, being crowned the national Under-18 chess champion.

At his countryside Jericho, St George home which he shares with his mother, the sixth form student of the Combermere School told WEEKENDSPORT the love for sport began at the tender age of nine.
