St Joseph folk vent wrath at BWA

THE SIX THOUSAND people who live in St Joseph are just as important as the 88 000 in St Michael.

Those words, spoken by St Joseph resident Dionne King, summed up the sentiments and frustrations at Tuesday night’s Barbados Labour Party community meeting where the gloves came off and residents collectively spoke out over what they deemed as poor management by the Barbados Water Authority (BWA).

Stating that St Thomas and some areas in surrounding parishes received most of the island’s rainfall, King questioned why those same parishes were the only ones being starved of water.

Others at the meeting were quick to ask why other areas in the more populous parishes were not being affected for even one day.
