BWA to ease water agony

HELP IS ABOUT TO FLOW into water-scarce rural areas.

The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has heard the cries of people in the northern and eastern sections of Barbados, and relief is finally on the way.

In an interview yesterday, BWA acting general manager Dr John Mwansa said plans were being made to lease and install two portable containerised desalination plants in the north.

For the past few months, residents in at least five parishes have been forced to either collect water from BWA trucks or community tanks.

“We are looking at using a containerised desalination plant that could be utilised in the meantime when we look for a more permanent solution,” Mwansa said.
