Calls for better boardwalk lighting

THE Richard Haynes BoardWalk along Hastings, Christ Church, has come in for criticism because of its poor lighting.

And another call is being made to have the matter addressed on the heals of an attack on two visitors walking along the corridor Monday night.

According to director at the popular Naru’s restaurant, Brian Evelyn, “too many incidents have occurred out there” and he was blaming it on the poor lighting in the area.

“For many years, we the owners with restaurants along the stretch have been calling for proper lighting to be implemented to avoid situations such as these. We have made complaints to the Tourism Authority, Coastal Zone, to the police; we have begged for lighting on numerous occasions.
