Pride going for Windies players

STUNG BY two successive defeats, Barbados Pride have turned to their West Indies representatives for the remainder of the NAGICO Super50 regional cricket competition.

Seven of the eight Barbadians on the recent tour of Australia have been drafted into the Barbados Pride squad and will be considered for today’s fourth round match against ICC Americas at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.

West Indies Test and ODI captain Jason Holder, Test vice-captain Kraigg Brathwaite, wicketkeeper/batsmen Shane Dowrich and Shai Hope, all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite, left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican and pacer Miguel Cummins have joined the Barbados squad for a game they will want to win to keep alive their chances of making the semi-finals.

The seven players to make way are batsmen Kyle Corbin and Kenroy Williams, wicketkeeper Mario Rampersaud, all-rounder Justin Greaves, pacer Tino Best, left-arm spinner Dane Currency and leg-spinner Hayden Walsh Jr.
