Bag snatcher jailed

THE THIEF WHO TERRORISED motorists in the Pine/Wildey area by snatching their bags and valuables from cars has been jailed for six years.

The United States Embassy and the Royal Barbados Police Force issued security alerts after career criminal Shane Jeremiah Polin, 30, unleashed five months of attacks on slowing or stationary motorists not only in the Pine/Wildey area, but Forde’s Road and Government Hill in St Michael and Rendezvous Hill, Christ Church.

Polin, of Bartletts Tenantry, Sargeants Village, Christ Church, appeared in the District “C” Magistrates’ Court last Friday and pleaded guilty to five of 23 counts of theft within that jurisdiction. He was remanded pending sentence.

However, yesterday he appeared in themDistrict “A” Magistrates’ court before Magistrate Douglas Frederick on the other 18 matters which he immediately confessed to.
