Contracts for eight women cricketers

THE BARBADOS Cricket Association (BCA) has increased the number of women’s contracts on offer this year.

At a Press conference to launch the Iris Walker Memorial Women’s Cricket Competition, committee chairman Hartley Reid said the board of management of the BCA offered eight contracts.

“This is indeed a first because when the last contracts were distributed they were only issued to five females, they have now extended to eight,” he said.

He revealed that contrary to what might have been previously mentioned, the agreements were late because of conflicting time frame between the BCA contracts and those issued by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
