THE LATE LESTER Vaughan was honoured yesterday as the 50th anniversary commemorative Broken Trident journeyed to the Holy Innocents Primary School, St Thomas.
Vaughan a former principal at the school, was remembered by Commander Aquinas Clarke, deputy head of the 50th Anniversary of Independence Celebrations Secretariat, and parliamentary representative for St Thomas Cynthia Forde, both present at the ceremony.
The Trident, along with the St Thomas and St George parish ambassadors, made the school its first stop in St Thomas yesterday as it continued its route to touch every parish as a part of the country’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
This celebration also held a two-fold meaning as Clarke spoke of the symbolic importance having the Trident at the school for the start of the I Pledge programme.
