IT MAY HAVE taken nearly five months more than expected, but Flow Deacons finally won the marathon Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 volleyball league title on Monday night at the Wildey Gym.

A number of activities had seen the league running from one year into the next.

Deacons defeated the 2015 champions Chargers 25-20, 25-20, 20-25, 25-21 to end the season with a 9-1 record and 46 points.

Chargers needed to defeat Deacons in four sets or less to pip them for the crown.
