STAFF OF HOTELS in the St Lawrence, Christ Church area banded together today in an effort to keep the community clean.

Operations manager of Ocean Two, Paul Collymore said the effort was the idea of the hotel’s environment committee and would include education and training.

“We sent out information to the surrounding business community and we all met on Monday with the Minster of Health and the permanent secretary. We are starting an ongoing project where we will be going into different environments and doing clean-up as well as distributing literature from the Ministry of Health. The next major step will be training for our staff, which will start at the end of the month,” he said.

This morning, staff from Ocean Two, Sandals, Time Out in the Gap, Sea Breeze Hotel and Dover Beach Hotel ventured through the gaps and trudged through bush to bag refuse. Collymore said they hoped more businesses and individuals would come on board. (CA)
