AN ELDERLY PARISH LAND, Christ Church man, Joseph Whitright, became the island’s latest fire victim when his house caught fire early yesterday morning.

Neighbours who gathered said thankfully Whitright, who is either in his 70s or 80s is currently hospitalised and was not at home when the fire started.

Mayers’ home suffered no damage.

However, Whitright’s stone and timber home was completely destroyed as well as another building in the backyard, which he rented out.
