IT WASN’T PRETTY, but Lumber Company Lakers will take the result all the same.
They barely held off Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics 57-54 on Thursday at the Wildey Gym for their first win of this Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League season.
The performance wasn’t one you’d expect from a typically offensive proficient Lakers squad, who converted a mere 22 of their 74 shot attempts while going an even more dreadful four of 19 from deep.
And it all started with their national players, as neither Keefe Birkett, Mark Bridgeman nor Kregg Jones managed to get in double digits after combining to miss 23 of 31 from the floor.
