Lunch Day 4: Pride 274 and 320-4 dec’d, Jaguars 190 and 130-2

BRIDGETOWN – Guyana Jaguars, set 405 for victory by Barbados Pride were 130 for two off 48 overs at lunch on the final day of their seventh round regional Professional Cricket League match at Kensington Oval here Monday.

Opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul was not out on 53, alongside his captain Leon Johnson, who has already struck two fours and two sixes in an unbeaten 25.

Resuming from 52 without loss overnight, Guyana made steady progress as their openers Chanderpaul and Rajendra Chandrika extended their stand to 92 runs.

But off-spinner Roston Chase came into the attack and struck two quick blows immediately, removing Chandrika for 49 and Assad Fudadin for two.

Chanderpaul has so far hit six fours and a six off 134 balls in 198 minutes while Chase has two wickets for 28 runs in 11 overs.

Scores: Barbados Pride 274 (Kevin Stoute 56 not out, Shamarh Brooks 56; Keon Joseph 3-49) and 320-4 declared in 93.2 overs (Shai Hope 114 not out, Jonathan Carter 100 not out). Guyana Jaguars 190 in 61.5 overs (Leon Johnson 40; Roston Chase 5-27) and 130-2 in 48 overs. (EZS)
