TRAINERS are often not praised enough for their sterling contribution to the outcome of many races unless their charges are victorious.
Glory awaits the six men and one woman, who have spent countless hours to make Saturday’s 35th Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup over 1 800 metres at the Garrison Savannah more than a spectacle.
For them several landmarks can be attained. Trainer Liz Deane can make history by becoming the leader in recording first and second place finishes in this big race. Her horses’ form has been very good as her charges have only failed to enter the winner’s enclosure on two days since last June.
