AN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE has again caused the closure of the Combermere School.

Earlier this morning, students and staff of the school complained of a pungent odour similar to the smell that had caused the school to be closed last year.

Due to the smell and effects it caused on the school members, the decision was taken to close the school early.

Principal Vere Parris and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health took to an area near Bellevue Plantation to find the source of the issue.

Parris explained that he believed source of the odour was coming from the acacia trees which heavily populated the area. (AD)
