PM Stuart congratulates PM Holness

PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart has congratulated the new Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness and the Jamaica Labour Party for winning the recent general elections.

In a congratulatory letter to Holness, Stuart wished him every success as he serves the people of Jamaica and assured him of the support and cooperation of the Barbados Government.

Highlighting the close association of both countries, he said: “Barbados and Jamaica have maintained a very constructive and friendly relationship in every sphere of engagement and, in particular, have been important partners in the regional integration movement.

“I therefore look forward to working with you on matters of mutual interest to our countries and to further collaboration within the Caribbean Community as we work towards the advancement and progress of our people.”

Prime Minister Stuart said it was his sincere hope that the two countries could continue to pursue new business opportunities and economic, social and cultural initiatives to further enrich the lives of their respective communities. (BGIS)
