THE FIGHT against Zika is on!
And health officials are relentless in their efforts to annihilate the virus which is spread by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito.
As part of an initiative entitled Join The Fight, yesterday about 30 people, including officials from the Ministry of Health along with members of the Barbados Yellow Pages (BYP) were deployed in the Belleville, St Michael area, to do a walkthrough.
The foot soldiers inspected the surroundings of businesses for possible breeding grounds of the mosquito. They stopped pedestrians to offer them fact sheets with information about the Zika virus and the teams also distributed insect repellents containing the recommended ZEET chemical.
