Watch for War Envoy, ‘Bobber’

IT IS GOLD CUP DAY in Barbados and the foreign invasion is expected to dominate the island’s major showpiece horse racing event.

England-based bay colt War Envoy and the American chestnut  Watchyourownbobber look ready to provide a breathtaking finish to today’s Grade I – $240 500 Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup over 1 800 metres at the Garrison Savannah on the Barbados Turf Club’s sixth race day.

watchyourownbobber-030516War Envoy, since going into quarantine, burnt up the Pierre Meadow training facilities with some bullet five-furlongs workouts. Those workouts should have him razor sharp and the one they will all have to beat.

By his normal style it is a remarkable improvement and he should be ready to explode for his partner, jockey Mario Pino, a winning machine.
