Boy’s peril

A TEENAGER SENT to the Psychiatric Hospital amid reports that he was being abused at home, is at the centre of an effort by a church, Good Samaritans and friends to get him out.

The detention of the 16-year-old, a leader at his school and who was preparing for CXCs, has shocked members of a Seventh-day Adventist Church that started taking care of him after reports that he was being abused by a relative circulated in the church and his neighbourhood.

But a member, who did not wish to be identified, said that instead of getting helpful intervention sought from the Child Care Board (CCB), the youth was locked away at the Psychiatric Hospital on Friday.
