DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) have completed the first half Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Premier League in a familiar position.

BDFSP defeated Mackeson Brittons Hill 1-0 last Sunday night at the Wildey Astroturf to move to 23 points, three more than second placed DirecTV Paradise who defeated Christ Church neighbours Rendezvous 2-1.

The opening fixture produced the shock of the season to date, as Premiership debutants Phone Medic Repair Belfield defeated title contenders Neighbourhood Care Pharmacy Weymouth Wales 3-1 to move out of the relegation zone.

Wales were prime favourites against Belfield, who had just one victory from eight games prior to this match. Wales had just defeated powerhouses University of the West Indies (UWI) last weekend to put themselves in title challenging position.
