IT WAS an extra special standing ovation, for it was led by the Queen’s representative.
Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave usually sits in quiet sophistication during his now routine primary school visits, but last Wednesday he was driven to his feet after a commendable performance by the Wilkie Cumberbatch Primary School’s all boys choir.
During his visit to The Pine, St Michael school, located less than three minutes from Government House, Sir Elliott was so impressed with the entertainment package that he rose to his feet in a gesture of appreciation – and the entire audience followed him.
Each performance was indeed delivered with much panache and zeal.
