SCOTIABANK SPRINGER MEMORIAL and Christ Church Foundation School are the winners of the Esther Maynard Zone of the 2016 Powerade Barbados Secondary Schools’ Athletic Championships.
Both schools built on yesterday’s performance at the National Stadium to take top honours.
Perennial girls’ champions Springer held off a determined Foundation side to finish with 476 points, 16 more than the challengers. Harrison College were a distant third on 352.5.
The Foundation Boys ended with 350.5 points, pulling away from Combermere School, who had 313. St Leonard’s Boys’ were third with 277 points, three more than Harrison College.
The Frank Blackman Zone will be held over the next two days at the same venue. (SAT)
