Union, BWA on ‘collision course’

THE BATTLE between the Barbados Workers Union (BWU) and the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) regarding unpaid increments is still ongoing.

Before general secretary of the union Toni Moore made the announcement Friday that the two entities agreed to meet on Tuesday, she lamented the back and forth between the two entities.

In 2006 she said a “system of performance management” was agreed on but the BWA failed to implement the system. 

“From year one when the BWA failed to meet the commitment to implement the system, the union reminded management of the need to reinstitute the payment of increments notwithstanding the agreement made during 2006,” she said after a two-hour meeting Friday. (TG)
