GOVERNOR GENERAL Sir Elliott Belgrave headed a congregation of diplomats and youth at a multi-faith service hosted by the Barbados Branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society at James Street Methodist Church this morning.

The annual service held on Commonwealth Day being observed around the world, also celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Young people figured prominently in the programme in which representatives from various religions read from their respective holy book.

Speaking to NATION NEWS afterwards, chairman of the Barbados branch of the Royal Commonwealth Society, Cheryl Bell, said the development of youth continued to be a key focus of the organisation, a fact that was reflected in the Society’s programmes. (GC)
