THE BARBADOS NETBALLĀ Association (BNA) is finding it tough to secure the necessary finances to host the upcoming Caribbean Netball Associations Jean Pierre Under-16 Netball Tournament.

At a press conference to announce the details of the competition, president of the BNA, Nisha Craigwell, said corporate sponsors have not been coming forward to assist.

She said the March 31 to April 9Ā eventĀ onĀ home soil would require about $100 000Ā for hosting.

ā€œWe have the traditional help from the Barbados Olympic Association and the Government . . . . They have provided the necessities in terms of a venue,ā€ she said.

However, she said there were a number of critical aspects of the competition in need of sponsorship, such as the championship trophy, since the company which sponsored that before was now defunct. (RG)
