The Gap closing early

IS THERE an ongoing effort to kill St Lawrence Gap?

Nightclub operators, food vendors, patrons and taxi operators are all wondering the same thing as the night activities at The Gap usually come to an abrupt close at 2 a.m.

A concerned patron emailed the NATION concerning The Old Jamm Inn, one of the affected businesses. In the correspondence, the emailer said the police were continually shutting down the popular nightspot because the business was having difficulty sourcing an entertainment licence.

“The Old Jamm Inn is being shut down early every night, upsetting and driving away huge numbers of tourists and locals – in a nutshell, police are using the fact there is no entertainment licence but are still not complying to the statutory rights on their current licence.  (CA)
