MORE THAN FOUR decades in the teaching profession are nearing an end for principal of the Vauxhall Primary School Lionel Stoute.

Stoute, who goes on pre-retirement leave in a few days, will bow out of the service at the end of the school year.

Past and present students, staff and former colleagues joined in wishing Stoute farewell during a celebration in his honour at the Christ Church school this morning.

Tributes came in song, poetry dance and a gymnastics display as students from each year group took turns in celebrating their beloved principal. (YB)
