63-year-old swallows 68 packages of cannabis

A MAN IS SCHEDULED to appear in court today to answer several drug charges.

Members of the Drug Squad formally charged Jamaican national O’Conner Newton, 63, with possession of two pounds of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and Importation.

Newton arrived by air from Jamaica last Friday and was interviewed by Police. He was referred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he passed 68 packages of cannabis he had ingested. 

Newton is to appear at the District B Magistrates Court. (PR/SAT)
