RETRO AND CLASSIC CAR owners who have been reeling under sky-high vehicle insurance premiums, are being thrown a lifeline.

A new insurance plan is scheduled to be rolled out in a few months by Sagicor General Insurance, much to the delight of members of the Retro and Classic Car Club of Barbados.

Secretary/treasurer of the club, David Browne, told the DAILY NATION yesterday that the move was especially welcomed by enthusiasts who were finding it “extremely difficult” to get insurance for their vehicles.

“Even if it is in good condition, you’re getting a lot of insurance companies that will not insure a car without roadworthy certificates and a whole of things,” he said.
