Wanderers take Under-13 title

COUNTERPOINT WANDERERS inflicted the first defeat for this year on first-time finalists Franklyn Stephenson Academy to register their first capture of the Barbados Cricket Supplies Under-13 Cricket Tournament.

Wanderers, playing in the final for the first time since the inaugural competition in 2009, (then sponsored by Inspire Sports) dismissed the Zone A winners in 33.3 overs for 139 before making light work of the modest target with nine wickets and 13 balls to spare.

Man of the match, offspinner Jabari Hunte, instigated a lower-order collapse by the Bennetts, St Thomas-based Academy to grab match-winning figures of five for 28, as the last five wickets tumbled for six runs in the space of two overs.
