PARKING SPACES were in high demand at the Arthur Smith Primary School, St Matthias, last night when the nomination was held for the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Christ Church West constituency.

Hundreds turned out for the meeting at which Dr William Duguid was given the nod to represent the BLP in the next general elections.

From well before the slated 6:30 p.m. start the classroom was full. Dozens more gathered under a tent in the ourtyard where Duguid chatted with supporters.

Branch president Lisa Jaggernauth proposed Duguid as candidate while Taan Abed, who once contested the seat, seconded the nomination.

There were no other candidates nominated.

Duguid thanked the branch for not only showing up for his return to elective politics but for the nomination. (LK)
