IT WAS not strike action.

This was the denial from acting assistant general secretary Wayne Walrond who dismissed rumours that office staff of the National Union of Public Workers had walked off the job protesting delays in the payment of their increments.

One staff member told the WEEKEND NATION that the ten or so employees at the Dalkeith Road, St Michael union were fed up and upset after being given promises by the year-old executive.

“It’s really about our increments which we asked for. It’s not about a salary increase. It’s about putting us in a position where we would be comfortable,” the staff member said. (HLE)
