HARRISON COLLEGE, a legendary leader in academic excellence, has pioneered a bid to achieve greatness in sport and the arts with the establishment of a new foundation.
A group of well-known former students, along with chairman of the board, Novaline Brewster and principal Juanita Wade, recently signed the document to realise the Harrison College Foundation for Creative and Sporting Excellence.
One of the chief innovators of the foundation, Deighton Smith, indicated that it will be looking to raise $400 000 per annum.The former CEO of the Barbados Cricket Association said that the foundation will target those students who want to excel beyond academics.
“Academics have served our country well over the years, but we have an instance where one of our scholarship winners in the sciences studies music which showed that our system is not catering to all of the aspirations of our students,” said Smith.
