Stolen steals the prize

DADDY’S WISH’s quest for a sixth consecutive win was Stolen yesterday at the Garrison Savannah by the brilliance of Jalon Samuel’s battling home stretch drive.

It also denied the unfancied Pay As You Go from taking the feature Joe Tudor Memorial And Grand Stand Posse Fillies Trail (Grade I – West Indian-bred) 1 570 metres. 

Pay As You Go (Damario Bynoe) led the race until the final strides and hot favourite Daddy’s Wish ran an indifferent race to finish third.

After losing ground approaching the paddock bend, she got within striking distance of the leaders, momentarily sticking her head in front of Pay As You Go and Stolen before suddenly running out of steam.
